Corrado Roi
Corrado Roi was born on February 11, 1958, in Laveno Mombello, in the province of Varese, Lombardy, Italy. He is best known as the defining artist of the Italian horror comic *Dylan Dog*, where his atmospheric, shadow-drenched style helped establish the series as Italy's best-selling comic after he joined the title in 1986. Before that, Roi honed his craft publishing stories in magazines like *Il Monello* and *Staff di If*. His signature work for Sergio Bonelli Editore also includes covers and interior art for *Mister No*, *Martin Mystère*, *Nick Raider*, *Zona X*, *Julia*, *Magico Vento*, and *Brendon*—the latter a series he co-created. Roi's art is characterized by heavy blacks, moody crosshatching, and a cinematic sense of dread that perfectly suited the horror genre. Over a career spanning from 1987 to 2026, he has been credited on over 100 issues, primarily for *Dylan Dog* and its spin-offs, as well as the erotic-fantasy series *Druuna*. His work has earned him a devoted following and recognition as one of the key visual architects of modern Italian comics.
