Colin McLoughlin
Colin McLoughlin was a British freelance writer best known for co-creating a series of adventure and western comic characters with his brother, artist Denis McLoughlin, for the London publisher TV Boardman, Ltd. (Boardman Books). He was born in the United Kingdom; no specific birth or death dates are recorded in available sources. McLoughlin entered comics in the 1940s, collaborating with his brother to develop the lead characters Swift Morgan, Roy Carson, Buffalo Bill, and Sam English. These strips appeared through the 1940s and 1950s, and McLoughlin is credited as writer on 19 issues spanning from 1948 to 2007. His most frequent credits include *Roy Carson*, *Swift Morgan*, and the related titles *Roy Carson Comic*, *Swift Morgan Space Comic*, and *Spaceways Comic*. His later work included contributing to *The Comic Art of Denis McLoughlin*, a retrospective on his brother’s career. While no major awards are recorded for McLoughlin, his collaborative creations with Denis remain a notable part of mid-century British adventure comics.
