Charlie Christensen
b. 1958
Charlie Christensen, born Hans Allan Christensen on 11 June 1958 in Bromma, Sweden, is a Swedish cartoonist widely recognized for his satirical Donald Duck parody, *Arne Anka*. He relocated to Pamplona, Spain, in 1988, where he has since lived and worked. Christensen began his career in the late 1970s, contributing to various comic publications. His signature style blends sharp, clean linework with a dry, often political humor, evident in *Arne Anka*'s cynical, chain-smoking duck protagonist. Beyond this flagship series, he collaborated with writer Patric Nyström on *Röde Orm*, an adaptation of Frans G. Bengtsson's Viking novel *The Long Ships*, and created *Odilou*, a historical romance set during the Russian Revolution. Christensen has been honored with the Urhunden Prize for Best Swedish Comic Album three times—in 1990, 1992, and 1994—for his distinctive contributions to the medium. His work appears across 42 credited issues in our catalog, spanning roles as artist, writer, inker, colorist, and letterer from 1979 to 2019. Christensen's legacy endures as a key figure in Swedish comics, known for blending parody with poignant social commentary.
