Cecil Langley Doughty

Cecil Langley Doughty was a British comics artist and illustrator, born 7 November 1913, who became best known for his detailed historical illustrations and long-running work in the educational weekly *Look and Learn* and the comic *Knockout*. He died on 26 October 1985. Doughty’s career in comics began in the 1950s, and he contributed to numerous titles, including *Thriller Comics Library*, *Thriller Picture Library*, and *Pages from History*, often as artist, colorist, inker, or writer. His meticulous, fact-based style brought history to life, most notably in the 1966 book *Everyone's Story of Britain*, where his illustrations captured historical events with fascinating precision. Doughty’s work in *Look and Learn* solidified his reputation as a master of educational comics, collaborating with editors and writers to create vivid, accurate depictions of the past.
