Carol Tyler was born on November 20, 1951, and is recognized as a pioneer of autobiographical comics. Her work, noted for its refined writing and detailed art, earned her a Judge's Choice induction into the Will Eisner Hall of Fame in 2026. Over a career spanning from 1989 to 2018, Tyler received numerous honors, including the Gold Medal of Excellence from the Society of Illustrators, the Cartoonist Studio Prize, an Inkpot Award, the Ohio Arts Council Excellence Award, and the Master Cartoonist award at the 2016 Cartoon Crossroads Columbus Festival.
