Carla Hansen
Carla Hansen was the Danish writer who, alongside her husband Vilhelm Hansen, created the beloved children's comic *Rasmus Klump* (known in English as *Bruin* or *Petzi*). Born Carla Jensen on 19 September 1906 in Denmark, she collaborated with Vilhelm, a trained lithographer and advertising artist, to produce the strip about a bear and his animal friends. The comic debuted as a daily strip in Denmark on 17 November 1951 and quickly became one of Europe's most popular children's series, translated into many languages by publishers including Carlsen Comics and Casterman. While the Hansens stopped writing and drawing new stories after 1965, their names remained on the albums as other artists—such as Tove Nørgaard in the 1960s, followed by Ole Munk Rasmussen and Paul Arne Kring in the 1980s—continued the strip. Carla Hansen died on 6 December 2001. Her work with Vilhelm is credited on over 80 issues, with titles including *Petzi*, *Bamse Bjørn*, and *Rasmus Nalle*. In 2002, Vilhelm was honored with a Danish stamp, recognizing the enduring legacy of their co-creation.
