Bisco Hatori is a Japanese manga artist best known for creating the beloved romantic comedy *Ouran High School Host Club*. She was born on August 30, 1975, in Japan. Hatori’s pen name, she has noted, “holds special meaning to her.” Her first published series was *Millennium Snow*, but it was *Ouran High School Host Club* that brought her international fame. That series, which ran from 2002 to 2010, became a breakout hit in North America through Viz Media’s *Shojo Beat* magazine, and was adapted into a popular anime. Hatori’s art style is clean, expressive, and especially skilled at comedic timing and character design. Her later works include the supernatural romance *Behind the Scenes!!*, which ran from 2015 to 2019. She has collaborated closely with her editors and the *Shojo Beat* team. Hatori’s work has not won major industry awards, but *Ouran High School Host Club* remains a defining title of 2000s shojo manga, widely praised for its humor, heart, and gender-role play. She continues to create manga, with her most recent series, *Millennium Snow* (a 2-in-1 edition), released in 2019.
