Annie Goetzinger was a French comics artist and graphic novelist born in Paris on 18 August 1951, who died on 20 December 2017. She is best known for her meticulously researched historical graphic novels and her refined, Art Nouveau-influenced linework, which often showcased her background in fashion drawing and costume design. Goetzinger began her career in the mid-1970s, contributing short comic stories to French magazines such as *Pilote*, *Charlie Mensuel*, and *Fluide Glacial*. Her first graphic novel, *Casque d'Or*, earned her two awards at the 1977 Angoulême International Comics Festival. She maintained a long creative partnership with writer Pierre Christin, and their collaborations are among her most celebrated works. Goetzinger also worked as a press cartoonist for newspapers like *La Croix* and *Le Monde*, and in 2016 she illustrated a recap of New York Fashion Week for *New York Magazine*. Her catalog includes the series *Agence Hardy*, *Félina*, and *Aurore*, spanning 50 issues from 1976 to 2018. Her legacy endures through her elegant, detail-driven storytelling and her influence on European graphic literature.
