Angus P. Allan

Angus Peter Allan was born on 22 July 1936 in Britain and died on 16 July 2007. He built a career as one of the most productive comic strip writers and magazine editors in British comics, with activity spanning from 1957 to 1988 and credits across 578 issues in the catalog.

Allan came up through the world of British comics publishing, contributing to TV Century 21 during the 1960s before becoming the dominant creative force behind Look-In magazine throughout the 1970s. That weekly title aimed at younger television fans became virtually synonymous with his work — nearly all of its comic strips originated with him. His particular skill lay in adapting popular television series into engaging sequential art, and he brought that approach to properties including The Six Million Dollar Man, Logan's Run, and Charlie's Angels. Beyond Look-In itself, his byline appeared regularly across related publications such as the Look-In Summer Extra, the Look-In Television Annual, and the Look-In Follyfoot Special. Earlier in his career he also contributed to Super Detective Library.

Allan collaborated frequently with notable British artists, among them Jim Baikie and Arthur Ranson, and was credited both as Angus Allan and Angus P. Allan across his long body of work. His sustained output across three decades left a distinct mark on British comics aimed at television audiences.
