André Chéret

André Chéret, born on June 27, 1937, in France, was a French comic book artist whose career spanned more than five decades. He is best known as the co-creator of the prehistoric hero Rahan, which he launched in 1969 alongside writer Roger Lécureux. Chéret’s dynamic, expressive linework and vivid storytelling brought the savage world of Rahan to life, making the series a cornerstone of French comics. His artistic style, characterized by energetic action sequences and detailed period settings, defined the look of the character for generations of readers.
Chéret served as artist, colorist, inker, and letterer on 131 issues, with his most credited titles including *Rahan*, *Rahan - La collection*, *Peptoe*, *Rahan - L'intégrale*, *Ly-Noock*, and *Tout Rahan*.
