Albers
Diana Albers is an American comic book letterer best known for her work at Marvel Comics from the late 1970s through the mid-1990s. Born in the United States, she entered the industry during a period when female letterers were still uncommon. Albers is credited on 15 issues, with her most frequent assignments including *Captain America*, *Spider-Woman*, *Marvel Super-Heroes*, *Night Thrasher*, and *Mark Hazzard: Merc*, as well as the *Spider-Woman Annual*. Her lettering style was clean and functional, serving the narrative without drawing undue attention, a hallmark of the era's house style. She collaborated with writers and artists such as Mark Gruenwald, John Byrne, and Jim Shooter on various projects. While not a co-creator of major characters, her steady hand contributed to the visual consistency of Marvel's line during a transitional period. After her active run ended in 1994, Albers left the comic book industry. She has not received major awards, but her work remains a footnote in the history of comic book lettering, a craft often overlooked but essential to the reading experience.
