Arthur Burdett Frost, known professionally as A. B. Frost, was born on January 17, 1851, and died on June 22, 1928. An American illustrator, painter, and graphic artist, he is most remembered for bringing the characters of Br'er Rabbit and his companions to visual life in Joel Chandler Harris's *Uncle Remus* books. Frost’s art is distinguished by its lively sense of motion and sequential storytelling, as well as his realistic depictions of hunting, shooting, and golfing scenes. He was a pioneer in the early development of the comic strip form, and his career spanned illustrations for over ninety books and hundreds of paintings. Among his most credited works are appearances in *Harper's New Monthly Magazine*, *Ladies' Home Journal*, and collections such as *Stuff & Nonsense* and *The Bull Calf and Other Tales*. Frost's ability to capture action and narrative in a single frame made him a significant figure in American illustration. He was inducted into the Society of Illustrators' Hall of Fame in 1985, a posthumous honor recognizing his lasting influence on the field.
