Van Manhattan

A Golden Age adventurer with a name as bold as a marquee, Van Manhattan burst onto the scene in 1947 courtesy of the legendary Gardner Fox and artist Clem Weisbecker, debuting in the very first issue of EC's International Comics. That premiere issue alone marks him as a piece of early EC history, back when the publisher was still finding its footing before its more notorious later era. With only a handful of catalogued appearances, Van Manhattan is the kind of compact, atmospheric discovery that reminds collectors just how wide and wonderful the Golden Age truly was.
