Torsti Pörsti
Torsti Pörsti burst onto the Finnish comics scene in 1999 through the pages of Myrkky, the edgy anthology published by Egmont Kustannus that gave voice to some of the most distinctive characters of the era. With only eight catalog appearances across a brief 1999–2000 window, Torsti is a compact gem of the Modern Age — the kind of cult figure that dedicated readers of underground-flavored Finnish comics will recognize with a knowing grin. Sharing those irreverent pages with characters like Firkin, Myyntimies Mynttinen, and the wonderfully named Pera Pervo, Torsti kept genuinely colorful company in a publication that clearly had no interest in playing it safe. For collectors who love digging into the wilder corners of European comics history, a Myrkky issue with Torsti inside is a small but satisfying find.
