Sunspot
Roberto Da Costa is a Brazilian mutant who can absorb solar radiation and convert it into superhuman strength and the ability to fly, his body wreathed in darkened solar energy when powered up. He is a longtime member of the New Mutants and X-Men extended family.
Sunspot steps into the spotlight in X-Men Special #2 (1998), a Panini Deutschland publication that brought this character to life through the collaborative talents of Fabian Nicieza, Reinhard Schweizer, and Gary Frank. Emerging in the Modern Age, this is a figure who keeps genuinely electrifying company β sharing pages with heavy hitters like Logan, Wolverine, Charles Xavier, Roberto Da Costa, and the formidable Onslaught across titles including Wolverine, X-Men, and X-Men Special. With nine catalog appearances concentrated in some of the era's most charged corners of the X-universe, Sunspot may be a compact presence, but the company they keep and the creative pedigree behind that debut make every appearance worth hunting down.
