Stapleface
Stapleface is a Cenobite — one of the extradimensional, pain-worshipping beings from Clive Barker's Hellraiser mythology — who inhabits the same hellish realm as Pinhead, existing as an avatar of suffering and body horror.
Stapleface emerged from the darkest corners of Marvel's horror output in 1990, a creation of Scott Hampton and Mark Kneece that dropped readers straight into the visceral, nightmarish world of Clive Barker's Hellraiser. Debuting in issue #2 of that landmark series, this Copper Age denizen shares hellish company with some of the most iconic and terrifying figures in horror comics — including Pinhead himself — across titles like Clive Barker's Hellraiser and Pinhead. With appearances spanning into the mid-nineties and even a slot in the Dark Holiday Special, Stapleface may have a compact presence in the catalog, but every page counts when you're running with this crowd. For collectors drawn to the rich, literary horror atmosphere Barker brought to comics, this is exactly the kind of deep-cut character that rewards a closer look.
