Snoid
Snoid is a grotesque little lowlife character from R. Crumb's underground comics world, debuting in Mr. Natural #2. A memorably disreputable figure, he inhabits the same seedy countercultural universe as Mr. Natural and Flakey Foont.
Crawling out of the fertile underground imagination of R. Crumb in 1971's Mr. Natural #2, Snoid is one of those wonderfully disreputable little figures that made Bronze Age alternative comics so irresistibly strange. A Kitchen Sink Press creation, Snoid keeps gloriously weird company β sharing pages with Mr. Natural himself, Flakey Foont, and Fritz the Cat, the rogues' gallery of Crumb's countercultural universe. Popping up across Blab!, Black and White Comics, and Mr. Natural over a span of nearly three decades, this compact catalog presence carries the unmistakable stamp of underground comix royalty β proof that even a character with five appearances can leave a mark when Crumb's the one holding the pen.
