Snarf
Snarf is the titular hero of the Snarfquest comic strip, which ran in Dragon Magazine beginning in 1987. A small, scrappy fantasy adventurer, he sets out on a quest-driven journey through a humorous sword-and-sorcery world full of monsters, mishaps, and misadventure.
Few characters capture the scrappy, adventurous spirit of tabletop fantasy culture quite like Snarf, who leapt off the pages of Dragon Magazine in 1987, courtesy of creator Brandon Peterson, right in the heart of the Copper Age when TSR was the beating heart of imaginative gaming fiction. Born in the pages of the legendary RPG publication and starring in the beloved Snarfquest comic strip, Snarf carved out a devoted following across nearly three decades of fantasy misadventure. Whether in Dragon Magazine or the dedicated SnarfQuest collections, this plucky little hero proved that the most endearing figures in comics don't always wear capes — sometimes they just have an irrepressible spirit and a knack for getting into trouble. A genuine piece of TSR history, Snarf is a warm reminder of an era when gaming and comics fed each other's wildest imaginings.
