Who is Sleipnir?

Sleipnir is the legendary eight-legged horse of Odin, drawn from Norse mythology and adapted into Marvel's heroic universe. As Odin's supernaturally swift steed, Sleipnir appears within stories featuring Asgardian figures and Marvel heroes.

Stepping out of the pages of Ombrax-Saga in 1986, Sleipnir is a Copper Age creation brought to life by the accomplished team of Roger Stern and Al Milgrom for Editions Lug. With only a handful of appearances, this is a rare and intriguing figure whose brief run puts them in remarkable company — sharing adventures with the likes of Odin, Sif, Hogun, Captain Marvel, and Janet Van Dyne, suggesting a world steeped in Marvel's mythic and heroic tradition. Sleipnir may be a short chapter in comics history, but for the dedicated collector with an eye for the unusual and the obscure, that scarcity is precisely the appeal.
