Who is Rusev?

Rusev is a comic-book adaptation of the real-life WWE professional wrestler, depicted in Boom! Studios' line of WWE comics as a powerhouse villain known for his Bulgarian heritage, brute strength, and nationalistic persona.

Stepping out of the wrestling ring and onto the comic page, Rusev made his four-color debut in WWE Superstars #12 in 2015, part of Boom! Studios' energetic Modern Age celebration of sports entertainment translated into sequential art. Created by Jim Salicrup, this larger-than-life superstar carved out his place across titles like WWE, WWE Superstars, and WWE: Then. Now. Forever., sharing panels with some of the biggest names in the universe β€” Roman Reigns, Seth Rollins, Dean Ambrose, Big E, and Xavier Woods among them. With 12 catalog appearances across a run stretching toward the close of the decade, Rusev is a vivid piece of the Boom! Studios WWE library that any fan of the crossover between wrestling culture and comics will want on their shelf.
