Rodeo Rick
Rodeo Rick is a Golden Age Western hero who debuted in DC's Western Comics, riding the postwar boom in frontier-themed comics. A skilled cowboy, he shared the anthology's pages with fellow Western heroes like The Wyoming Kid and Pow-Wow Smith.
Straight from the sun-baked pages of DC's Golden Age, Rodeo Rick lassoed his way into comics with Western Comics #2 in 1948, courtesy of artist Howard Post. A fixture of that beloved postwar era when DC's Western titles were riding high, he called Western Comics home throughout its run into the late 1950s. Sharing those dusty pages with fan favorites like The Wyoming Kid and Pow-Wow Smith made for some remarkable frontier company, and while Rick's nine catalogued appearances mark him as a rarer find, that's precisely what makes him a gem worth tracking down for any serious Golden Age Western collector.
