Road Dogg
Road Dogg — real name Brian James — is the comic-book adaptation of the WWE professional wrestler, depicting his in-ring persona as part of the Attitude Era's tag-team scene, brought to four-color life in Boom! Studios' licensed wrestling comics.
Stepping out of the squared circle and onto the comic page, Road Dogg made his four-color debut in 2017 courtesy of writer Dennis Hopeless and artist Serg Acuña in Boom! Studios' WWE #1 — part of a Modern Age wave that brought professional wrestling's most electrifying personalities into comics form. His appearances span WWE, WWE: Then. Now. Forever., and the nostalgia-soaked WWE Attitude Era 2018 Special, that last title alone signaling just how deeply this character is woven into one of wrestling's most beloved chapters. Across his seven catalog appearances he shares pages with an absolute murderers' row — Triple H, Billy Gunn, Shawn Michaels, Kofi Kingston, and John Cena — making for some genuinely star-studded reading. A compact but punchy presence in Boom!'s wrestling universe, Road Dogg is a must for any fan who wants their comics to hit with the same energy as a pay-per-view main event.
