Who is Reddy Fox?
A sly newcomer to Dell's beloved Walter Lantz universe, Reddy Fox made his debut in Walter Lantz New Funnies #187 in 1952, right at the tail end of the Golden Age. Created by Lloyd White, this fox navigated a wonderfully crowded corner of comics alongside the likes of Oswald the Rabbit, Charlie Chicken, Knothead, and Splinter — a lively cast that made Dell's Lantz titles such a joy for young readers of the era. With only a handful of appearances across New Funnies and Walter Lantz Woody Woodpecker's Back to School, Reddy Fox is a genuine rarity — a brief but charming footnote in the rich history of Dell's funny-animal comics that dedicated collectors of early '50s Lantz material will be delighted to track down.
