Who is Pu'ar?

Pu'ar is a small, shape-shifting cat-like creature and devoted companion to the desert bandit Yamcha in Akira Toriyama's Dragon Ball. Gentle and loyal, Pu'ar attended the same shape-shifting school as Oolong and can transform into virtually any object or creature.

A loyal and endearing presence in the world of Dragon Ball, Pu'ar has shared the page with some of the most iconic names in manga history β€” Son Goku, Bulma, Yamcha, and Oolong among them β€” across the pages of both Dragon Ball and Dragon Ball Super as published by Viz. Born from the imagination of the legendary Akira Toriyama, this charming little character made their catalog debut in 2003 and has remained part of the Dragon Ball universe for nearly two decades. While Pu'ar may not rack up the highest appearance counts, there's something genuinely special about a character who keeps such extraordinary company across one of the most beloved manga franchises ever brought to Western readers.
