Piotr "Peter" Rasputin
Piotr Rasputin, known as Colossus, is a Russian mutant with the ability to transform his body into organic steel, granting him tremendous strength and near-invulnerability. A gentle-hearted farmer from Siberia, he joined the X-Men to use his gifts in service of protecting both mutants and humanity.
A cornerstone of the Bronze Age mutant era, Piotr "Peter" Rasputin made his Dutch-market debut in De X-Mannen #26 in 1985, brought to the page by the creative talents of Chris Claremont, Dave Cockrum, Bob Wiacek, and Ger Apeldoorn under Juniorpress. His catalog run through the late '80s and into the '90s places him in electrifying company β sharing adventures with the likes of Logan, Storm, and Ororo Munroe across the pages of De X-Mannen and Cable. With 16 appearances catalogued, this is a character whose presence in the Dutch comics landscape reflects just how powerfully the X-Men's world resonated far beyond American shores β a genuine piece of Bronze Age international comics history worth tracking down.
