Peninha

Peninha is a Brazilian-original character created for Editora Abril's Portuguese-language comics, inhabiting a world alongside Disney characters such as Donald Duck and Mickey Mouse. A young, bookish duck, he is known for his intellectual nature and close friendship with Donald.

A Brazilian Bronze Age original, Peninha made their debut in the landmark first issue of Superaventuras Marvel in 1982 — a collector-significant launch from Editora Abril that brought Marvel excitement to Portuguese-language readers. Created by Roger McKenzie, Jotapê Martins, and Frank Miller, this character inhabits a fascinating corner of comics history where the worlds of Marvel and classic Disney characters overlap, sharing pages with the likes of Pato Donald, Mickey, Pateta, and the Man Without Fear himself, Demolidor and Matt Murdock.
