Who is Patsy?

Dreamed up by the legendary Sheldon Mayer and debuting in The Three Mouseketeers #1 in 1956, Patsy is a charming piece of DC's lighter, funnier side — a funny-animal character who carved out a cozy corner of the publisher's Golden Age lineup. Over roughly two decades of publication, Patsy kept lively company with the likes of Fatsy, Ol' Whiskers, Dizzy Dog, and McSnurtle the Turtle across the pages of The Three Mouseketeers and Real Screen Comics. It's a delightful reminder that DC's Silver Age wasn't all capes and cowls — there was a whole menagerie of wit and whimsy running alongside the superheroes, and Patsy is a genuine artifact of that warm, wonderfully offbeat tradition worth seeking out.
