Mustanaamio made their entrance in 1991, born from the creative partnership of Dag E. Kolstad and Arild Midthun in the pages of Myrkky spesiaali — a Finnish Egmont Kustannus publication that would remain this character's home across a twelve-year run into the early 2000s. A true product of the Copper/Modern Age, Mustanaamio shares their corner of the Myrkky universe with a wonderfully eclectic cast including Kokonainen, Puolikas, and Nemi Montoya.
