Emerging from the pages of Egmont's cult Swedish humor series Herman Hedning in 2002, Mumien is a Modern Age creation from the inventive mind of Jonas Darnell — a character quirky enough to earn a collector-significant key issue among their modest but memorable eleven catalogued appearances. Sharing the anarchic world of Herman Hedning alongside the likes of Derek Jävelberg, Wolf, Damien, Sharon, and Herman himself, Mumien inhabits one of Scandinavian alternative comics' most gleefully offbeat corners. It's a short run, but in Herman Hedning's wonderfully strange universe, even a brief presence leaves a mark worth tracking down.
