Hiram Lodge is Veronica Lodge's wealthy, imposing father and one of Riverdale's most prominent citizens. A disapproving patriarch with a particular disdain for Archie Andrews, he tolerates — barely — his daughter's romance with the perpetually broke, accident-prone redhead.

Few figures in Riverdale carry quite the weight — or the raised eyebrow — of Mr. Hiram Lodge, who made his catalog debut in Archie's Pals 'n' Gals #177 in 1985, a Bronze Age entry into one of comics' most beloved small-town universes. Over roughly 24 years, he turns up across the digest-friendly pages of Archie Comics Digest, Archie, and Archie's Double Digest Magazine, keeping distinguished company with the likes of Archie Andrews, Veronica Lodge, Jughead Jones, Moose Mason, and Pop Tate. With only seven catalog appearances, he's a rarer presence than his prominent Riverdale standing might suggest — making each issue he graces something of a find for the dedicated Archie collector.
