Mongrol
Mongrol is a savage, near-indestructible robot warrior introduced in the ABC Warriors strip in 2000 AD. Built from scavenged parts and driven by primal fury, he was rebuilt and reactivated by the robotic scientist Lara, whose fate shaped his fierce, loyalty-driven existence.
Mongrol crashed onto the pages of 2000 AD in 1979, a Bronze Age creation of John Howard and Ron Smith that would prove to have serious staying power β 161 catalog appearances across nearly four decades is no small feat. Born from the fertile, anarchic imagination that made 2000 AD a landmark of British comics, Mongrol shares the stage with some of the anthology's most iconic and dangerous figures: Joe Pineapples, Blackblood, Deadlock, Mek-Quake, and even Judge Dredd himself. With seven key issues to his name, this is a character collectors have long taken seriously, and for good reason β any figure who endures from the Bronze Age all the way to 2018 in one of comics' most unforgiving arenas has clearly left a mark worth tracing.

Trivia
- Tharg the Mighty has written more of Mongrol's comics than any other writer in our catalog β 29 issues.
