Who is Midnighter?

Midnighter is a surgically enhanced superhuman whose body was rebuilt to make him the ultimate close-combat fighter — his implanted brain computer predicts every possible outcome of a battle before it begins, making him nearly unbeatable. He operates as a ruthless, darkly heroic member of the Authority alongside his partner Apollo.

Few characters have hit the ground running quite like Midnighter, who crashed into comics with The Authority #13 in 2000, courtesy of the electric creative team of Mark Millar and Frank Quitely. A product of the Modern Age's appetite for darker, more morally complex heroes, he's built a 25-year presence across DC's Wildstorm-rooted universe, sharing pages with heavy hitters like Apollo, Jack Hawksmoor, Swift, and The Engineer. His strongest showcases — The Authority, The Authority: More Kev, and DC/WS DreamWar — cement him as a figure who belongs in the thick of the action, surrounded by some of the most formidable characters the imprint has to offer. If you're drawn to Modern Age comics that pushed boundaries and redefined what superhero storytelling could look like, Midnighter is absolutely worth your time.
