Micael Johnsson
Micael Johnsson made their comics debut in the pages of MegaPyton in 1999, a Swedish publication from Atlantic Förlags AB that brought a distinctly Scandinavian sensibility to the late Copper/Modern Age. With creators Julie Doucet and Anne Thorsell — a genuinely intriguing pairing of talents — behind this debut, there's real creative pedigree here. Across a compact run through 2001, Micael shares the page with a memorable cast including Daniel Ahlgren, Andreas Lindén, and the wonderfully named Pappa Y-front, suggesting a world with plenty of personality to spare. Four appearances may be a modest tally, but for collectors with a taste for the offbeat corners of international comics, MegaPyton is exactly the kind of discovery worth chasing down.
