Who is Maximus Boltagon?

Maximus Boltagon is the treacherous, power-hungry brother of Black Bolt, king of the Inhumans. A brilliant but unstable schemer, Maximus repeatedly plots to usurp the Inhuman throne on Attilan, wielding his formidable intellect and mind-manipulation abilities against his own family.

Maximus Boltagon made his entrance into the Marvel Universe in 1997's Fantastic Four #10, a product of the bold, high-octane creative energy that defined the Copper/Modern Age. Over a publishing history stretching nearly three decades, he's kept rarefied company — sharing pages with Spider-Man and fellow Boltagon and Amaquelin family members — and turned up in marquee collections like Avengers by Jonathan Hickman and All-New Inhumans. His catalog footprint may be compact, but any character threading through that many corners of the Marvel tapestry is worth a second look for the dedicated collector hunting hidden connective tissue.
