Matador
Manuel Eloganto was a disgraced bullfighter who turned to crime, using his acrobatic skills and matador's cape to commit robberies in New York City, bringing him into conflict with Daredevil.
Born in the pages of Daredevil #5 in 1964, Matador is a Silver Age Marvel creation from the legendary partnership of Stan Lee and Wallace Wood, arriving right at the dawn of one of comics' most celebrated street-level titles. He's cut from the vivid, larger-than-life cloth of that early Marvel era, sharing the page with Daredevil himself, Matt Murdock, Foggy Nelson, and Karen Page — the core cast that made Hell's Kitchen feel electric. His appearances are preserved in prestige collections like the Daredevil Omnibus and Mighty Marvel Masterworks, marking him as a genuine piece of Silver Age history worth seeking out for any serious Daredevil devotee.
