Who is Marina?

Marina is an Aquaphibian — an amphibious humanoid from the underwater civilization of Pacifica — who appeared in the comic strip adaptation of the Gerry Anderson TV series Stingray, debuting in TV Century 21's very first issue in 1965.

Right at the dawn of the Silver Age, Marina made her comics debut in the very first issue of TV Century 21 in 1965 — a landmark launch that immediately placed her in dazzling company alongside the likes of Troy Tempest, Lady Penelope Creighton-Ward, and Steve Zodiac. Created by Alan Fennell and Eric Eden, she went on to appear across nearly three decades of British comics publishing, gracing the pages of TV Century 21, Action 21, and Lady Penelope for City Magazines and Century 21 Publications. Her presence in that debut issue gives her genuine key-issue status, making her a prized find for collectors who love the era when British comics were riding high on the excitement of Gerry Anderson's imaginative worlds. For fans of that golden stretch of UK comics history, Marina is a character whose story begins at the very best possible moment.
