Mantenna stalked onto the Bronze Age comics scene in 1984, courtesy of creator Larry Houston, debuting in the pages of Masters of the Universe: Hordak — The Ruthless Leader's Revenge! — a title that tells you everything about the villainous world this character inhabits. A creature of the Horde, Mantenna keeps some genuinely dangerous company, sharing pages with the tyrannical Hordak himself alongside iconic figures like He-Man, Prince Adam, and Teela.
