Who is Joulupukki?

Joulupukki — Finnish for 'Santa Claus' — is an adult-humour comic character from Egmont Kustannus's irreverent Finnish anthology Myrkky, inhabiting an anarchic underground world alongside similarly crude and satirical characters.

Joulupukki burst onto the Finnish comics scene in 1992 through the pages of Myrkky, Egmont Kustannus's irreverent anthology, and the company this character keeps — sharing panels with the likes of Pera Pervo, Firkin, and Myyntimies Mynttinen — tells you everything you need to know about the anarchic, adult-humour world they inhabit. A product of the Copper/Modern Age underground scene, Joulupukki's appearances across Myrkky and Myrkky Spesiaali through the early 2000s make this a genuine cult curiosity for collectors of Nordic alternative comics. With only ten catalogued appearances, every single one is a find worth celebrating.
