Jokke
Jokke is a supporting character in Frode Øverli's Norwegian comic strip Pondus, part of the everyday suburban ensemble surrounding the title character. He appears regularly alongside friends like Pondus and Günther in the slice-of-life humor series.
Born from the pen of Norwegian cartoonist Frode Øverli in 2000, Jokke is a fixture of the beloved Scandinavian comic strip Pondus, published by Hjemmet / Egmont and still going strong a quarter-century later. With 110 catalogued appearances across the Pondus series and its collected editions, Jokke has proven to be one of the strip's most enduring presences, sharing panels with the likes of Pondus, Camilla, Günther, and the rest of Øverli's warmly drawn ensemble. That the character can claim a key-issue appearance alongside such a long, consistent run speaks to a real place in the hearts of Nordic comics fans — if you're discovering Pondus for the first time, Jokke is exactly the kind of character who makes you want to keep turning pages.
