Johnny B. Badd
Johnny B. Badd is a comic-book adaptation of the real-life WCW professional wrestler of the same name, brought to the printed page as part of Marvel's licensed series showcasing the colorful personalities and in-ring rivalries of World Championship Wrestling.
Bursting onto the comics scene in 1992, Johnny B. Badd made his debut in Marvel's WCW World Championship Wrestling #1 — part of that early-'90s wave where the worlds of professional wrestling and comic books collided in gloriously entertaining fashion. Created by Mike Lackey and Ron Wilson, this Copper/Modern Age character brought the flash and flair of WCW's colorful roster to the printed page, sharing adventures with some of wrestling's most iconic names: Sting, Arn Anderson, Ron Simmons, Rick Steiner, and "Beautiful" Bobby Eaton. With appearances across the main series, its companion title, and the 1993 Annual, Johnny B. Badd carved out a memorable little corner of Marvel history — a vibrant snapshot of a moment when two pop-culture juggernauts briefly, brilliantly joined forces.
