Jhiaxus
Jhiaxus is a Cybertronian warlord who debuted as a primary antagonist in Marvel's darker, more expansive reinvention of the Transformers mythology. A ruthless commander leading his own faction of Transformers, he represented a threat distinct from and arguably more dangerous than the familiar Decepticon hierarchy.
Few villains announced themselves as boldly as Jhiaxus, who crashed into the Transformers universe in 1993's Transformers: Generation 2 #1 β Derek Yaniger's contribution to Marvel's ambitious reinvention of the franchise for the Copper/Modern Age. Sharing the stage with titans like Megatron, Optimus Prime, Grimlock, and Starscream, Jhiaxus carved out a distinct and menacing presence in a story that dared to push the mythology into darker, more expansive territory. His appearances are concentrated in Transformers: Generation 2 and the Transformers Compendium, making those essential reading for anyone who wants to understand this era's boldest antagonist. The fact that Jhiaxus has continued to surface in the catalog across more than three decades speaks to the lasting impression he made when Generation 2 rewired what a Transformers story could be.
