JB Reese

JB Reese is a VR Trooper who crosses paths with the Mighty Morphin Power Rangers in this mid-90s licensed crossover comic. As a VR Trooper, JB fights evil using high-tech virtual reality-based powers alongside fellow heroes from both franchises.

Stepping out of the mid-90s boom of licensed action comics, JB Reese made their debut in 1995 courtesy of creators Fabian Nicieza and Tod Smith in Marvel's crossover title Saban's Mighty Morphin Power Rangers: Ninja Rangers / VR Troopers — a series that threw together two of the era's biggest Saturday-morning franchises on the same page. It's a short but spirited run, and JB shares those adventures with a colorful roster including Tommy Oliver, Rocky DeSantos, the Pink and Black Rangers, and VR Ryan. Five appearances may be a slim catalog footprint, but for collectors who lived and breathed the Copper Age licensed-comics scene, tracking down this title is a genuine nostalgia treasure.
