Who is Jailbait?

Jailbait is a young woman affiliated with the Pantheon, a secretive organization of superhumans connected to the Hulk's world, as well as having ties to the villainous U-Foes. She operates within the morally complex landscape surrounding Bruce Banner and his allies.

Jailbait burst onto the scene in 1990's The Incredible Hulk #366, a Copper Age creation of the legendary Peter David and Jeff Purves during one of the most celebrated runs in Hulk history. Carrying dual team affiliations with both the Pantheon and the U-Foes, she occupies a genuinely fascinating corner of the Marvel Universe — a character who has orbited two very different kinds of power. Her adventures unfold alongside some heavy hitters, including the Hulk himself and Bruce Banner, and her appearances are best collected in the superb Hulk Visionaries: Peter David volumes that showcase just how richly layered that era of storytelling was. With a publishing footprint stretching across thirty years, Jailbait is a rewarding discovery for any fan digging deep into Peter David's landmark Incredible Hulk work.
