Who is Jack Hawksmoor?

Jack Hawksmoor is a superhero who was repeatedly abducted and surgically altered by aliens throughout his childhood, leaving him uniquely adapted to urban environments — he draws power from cities themselves, able to communicate with and manipulate them as living entities.

Warren Ellis and Tom Raney introduced Jack Hawksmoor to the world in Stormwatch #37 in 1996, and this Modern Age creation has been a fixture of Image Comics' most electrifying corner of superhero fiction ever since. Running from the mid-nineties all the way into the present, Jack has kept genuinely rarefied company — sharing pages with the likes of Midnighter, Apollo, and The Engineer across the landmark pages of Stormwatch and The Authority, titles that redefined what superhero comics could be. Nearly three decades of continuous presence is a testament to just how deeply this character embedded himself in readers' imaginations, and any collector serious about the Ellis-era Image universe will find Jack Hawksmoor an essential piece of that thrilling puzzle.
