Idefix
Idefix is the Swedish name for Dogmatix, the small but feisty pet dog of Obelix in the beloved Asterix comedy series. Despite his tiny size, he is fiercely loyal and surprisingly sensitive — known for weeping when trees are uprooted.
Few characters can claim to have bounded onto the Bronze Age comics scene with quite as much irresistible charm as Idefix, the tiny but spirited companion who made their debut in Asterix #15 in 1975 under the masterful hands of Goscinny and Uderzo. Published through the mid-1980s, Idefix shares the page with some of the most beloved figures in all of European comics — Asterix, Obelix, Miraculix, Majestix, and the perpetually tuneless Troubadix — a roster that speaks to the rich, warmly comedic world this little character inhabits. With appearances across both Asterix and the Swedish Asterix (Ny utgåva) editions from Hemmets Journal, Idefix's reach extends across languages and borders, a testament to the universal appeal of the Gaulish village's adventures. A small presence who leaves a big impression, Idefix is one of those delightful comic creations that reminds you why you fell in love with the medium in the first place.
