Hardtop

Hardtop is a G.I. Joe team member who serves as a driver and vehicle specialist, operating heavy ground vehicles in support of the elite counter-terrorist unit's missions against Cobra.

Hardtop rolled onto the scene in 1987, debuting in the pages of G.I. Joe in 3-D #2 courtesy of creators John Stephenson and E.R. Cruz — a Copper Age entry into one of comics' most beloved military universes. Over a surprisingly durable thirty-year span stretching into 2017, this character carved out a place across marquee titles like G.I. Joe: A Real American Hero, sharing pages with heavy hitters including Hawk, Conrad S. Hauser, and Clayton M. Abernathy. With a collector-recognized key issue among their appearances, Hardtop may be a lean presence in the catalog, but for the dedicated G.I. Joe completist, that kind of scarcity only adds to the appeal.
