Who is "Hack" MacKenzie?
A scrappy Silver Age creation from the British comics tradition, "Hack" MacKenzie burst onto the scene in 1962 courtesy of the talented Francisco Solano López, debuting in Amalgamated Press's Knockout — a beloved anthology that gave British readers some of their most memorable characters. Sharing his pages with a colourful cast including Strongbow, Rex Regan, and the wonderfully named "Smokey" Haddock, Hack clearly ran in lively, larger-than-life company. With only 13 catalogued appearances he's a genuine rarity, the kind of compact, punchy Silver Age figure that serious collectors of British comics history love to track down.
