Who is Gyre?

Gyre spun onto the Marvel scene in 1999, born from the creative partnership of Chris Claremont and Salvador Larroca in the pages of Fantastic Four — a modern-age debut that quickly drew this character into the orbit of some of Marvel's heaviest hitters. With appearances spanning Fantastic Four, X-Men, and X-Men Universe, Gyre moves in rarefied company, sharing adventures with the likes of Kurt Wagner, Colossus, and fellow enigmatic figures Helix, Coil, and Ringlet. A compact but intriguing presence in the catalog, Gyre is one of those quietly compelling corners of the Marvel universe that rewards the dedicated reader willing to dig into the late-'90s era when Claremont was reshaping the landscape once again.
