Gi

Gi is one of the five Planeteers in the Captain Planet and the Planeteers comics adaptation, a young eco-hero who wields the power of Water alongside teammates Kwame, Wheeler, Linka, and Ma-Ti to summon the environmental champion Captain Planet.

Gi made her comics debut in 1990's Hawk and Dove #18, brought to life by the creative team of Barbara Kesel, Karl Kesel, and Greg Guler right at the dawn of the modern era. She's perhaps best known through Captain Planet and the Planeteers, where she shares the page with the likes of Kwame, Wheeler, Linka, Ma-Ti, and Captain Planet himself — a roster that will spark instant recognition for fans of that era. With appearances also spanning Action Comics and Adventures of Superman, she moves in ambitious DC company. A compact but charming piece of early-'90s comics history, she's a rewarding find for collectors with a soft spot for the Copper Age's more idealistic corner of the DC universe.
