Stepping onto the pages of the Dutch girls' comics anthology Tina in 1987, George is a Copper Age creation brought to life by the creative team of Marjolein Winkel and artist Purita Campos — the latter a legendary figure in European girls' comics. Published by Oberon through the early '90s, George inhabits a warm, character-driven world shared with the likes of Madelon, Tina Ruysdal, and the Visser family, the kind of close-knit cast that made Tina such a beloved fixture on Dutch newsstands.
